PRA is proud to welcome Sven, our little "Swedish male" Pyrenees from Little Dixie Farm in Missouri! When we picked him up he was a little butter ball, but he has developed into an impressive male livestock guardian dog who works well guarding the alpacas with Izzy, Olaf and Annie.
Sven grew out of his "butter ball status" very rapidly, and now is very tall and lanky. He has a commanding bark and normally helps Annie on night patrol to keep the coyotes at bay. As a pup, he was a bit of a mischief maker, and there were times when we wondered if he would be a good fit with the rest of the LGD. But he has settled firmly into his role and the routine of daily farm life. He usually sleeps during the day, but at night he is constantly on patrol and guards both barns and all three pastures.
